About Estonian Companies

Estonian Companies turns the open data of the Estonian e-Business Register and the Estonian Tax and Customs Board into one page per company, with annual figures from 2019 to2025 and quarterly tax figures.

Purpose

The register and the tax board publish their data as large files. The files are accurate and hard to read: one company's history sits across several of them, in Estonian, in a format for programs. The site puts the parts that matter for checking a company on one page, with the Estonian term next to each English one. Its readers are foreign buyers and suppliers, investors, e-residents who found a company, journalists and job seekers.

What it offers

• 3,000 company pages, each with revenue, profit, equity and headcount by year, and taxes and turnover by quarter.
• Pages by county and legal form, and rankings by revenue, headcount, tax paid and growth.
• 6 guides to reading the data.

Sources

e-Business Register open data from the Centre of Registers and Information Systems (RIK), and Quarterly declared taxes, turnover and employees from theEstonian Tax and Customs Board (EMTA). Each file, its licence and its download date are ondata sources and methodology.

What it leaves out

The site publishes companies, not people. Sole proprietors are not listed, and no page shows a board member, a shareholder or an owner. Companies can ask to be removed at any time.
